Senior scholars Go.Ru. Channabasappa, Venkatachala Sastry, and Bhashyam Swamy were conferred with the prestigious Nadoja award at the 30th convocation of Kannada University, Hampi, on Tuesday evening.
At the colourful event held at the open theatre on the university campus, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, who was also the Chancellor of the university, presented the awards to the dignitaries in the presence of Sa.Chi. Ramesh, Vice-Chancellor of Kannada University, Hampi, and Tejasvi Kattimani, Vice-Chancellor of the Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh.
Murugarajendra Swamy of Chitradurga Mutt, senior journalist Padmaraja Dandavathi, Kempegowda Study Centre head B.S. Puttaswamy and environment activist Kalkuli Vittal Hegde were presented with D.Litt. awarded for their works. As many as 100 scholars were presented with Ph.D. awards and 1,380 students with different degrees in the convocation.
