Gadag district’s poor performance was repeated in the II PU examination as the district slipped to the last position in achieving pass percentage in the results announced on Monday.
In the SSLC examination, Gadag had slipped from 13th position in 2013-14 to the 34th (last) position with a pass percentage of 66.74 per cent.
Now in the 2014-15 II PU examination, when the state’s overall pass percentage stood at 60.54, Gadag district has recorded a pass percentage of just 51.02 per cent ending up in the last position. It was in 24th position in 2013-14.
In fact, in the last two academic years, the performance of Gadag has come down. Although Gadag had improved its position to 24th position during 2013-14 from 25th position in 2012-13, its pass percentage had come down to 52.12 per cent from 59.51 per cent.
Now for the academic year 2014-15, it has further come down by 2.10 per cent.
