Four, including three foreigners, arrested on charge of drug peddling

The Kothanur police arrested a gang of four, including three foreign nationals, and recovered narcotic substances worth over ₹2 lakh from them.

The accused Cgukwunanso Ajmanekwe, 42, from Nigeria, and his associate Don K. Thomas, 24, from Kerala were arrested by the police, who recovered 25 g of charas, 25.4 g of 110 MDMA pills, eight LSD papers, weed oil and 1 kg of marijuana from them. The police also arrested Lataya Patrick, 36, from Uganda, and Sabasio Paul Gilo, 22, from Sudan and recovered 27 g of Methamphetamine and 6 g of cocaine from them. The accused would source the drugs from other cities and sell them using their contact Thomas here.

The police also recovered ₹6,500 cash, modified hookahs to smoke the drugs and six mobile phones from the accused. They have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Investigations are on to ascertain their criminal background and the purpose of their visit to the cities.
