Four die, 30 injured in two accidentsin Hosapete and Sandur taluks

Four persons died on the spot and 30 were injured in two road accidents that occurred in Hosapete and Sandur taluks on Thursday.

In one of the accidents involving a tractor, carrying people from Chilakanahatti in Hosapete taluk, heading to work under MGNREGA, and a KSRTC bus, two persons, Renukamma (40) and Yerriswamy (36), died on the spot and 30 were injured, when the KSRTC bus rammed the tractor from behind.

Some of the injured were rushed to the government hospital at Hosapete and a few others, with grievous injuries, were shifted to VIMS Hospital in Ballari. On getting information, Assistant Commissioner, Hosapete, Lokesh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kudligi Sub-division, Basaveshwar, among other senior officials, visited the spot. Also, they made enquiries with the injured at the hospital.

Mariyammanahalli Police have registered a case. In the other accident, two motorbike riders died on the spot when a KSRTC bus knocked them down near Gandi Narasimha Swamy temple near Sandur.

The bus driver lost control over the vehicle resulting in the accident.

Sandur Police have registered a case.
