Passengers on Wednesday morning blocked the Karwar-Mangaluru-Bengaluru Express for a while at the railway station here in protest against two Travelling Ticket Inspectors (TTI) after they allegedly misbehaved.

According to sources at the railway station, TTIs Ravi and Suleman at the train abused some of the passengers in filthy language. Subsequently, the passengers pulled the chain, got down from a compartment and blocked the train. The passengers staged a dharna on the tracks for some time and demanded action against the TTIs, sources said. Later, the train officials way police (GRP) and city police officials visited the spot and pacified them to withdraw the protest. No complaint has been registered, the GRP officials said.
