Election officials urged to ensure maximum student enrolment

In order to ensure maximum enrolment in the revised electoral list, officials from the District Election Commission will visit colleges to convince eligible students to make the most of their right to vote.

Deputy Commissioner Bangalore (Urban) G.C. Prakash who convened a meeting on Wednesday, directed officials to visit colleges to create awareness among students about their voting rights and get them enrolled in the revised electoral list. A team of officials would visit colleges and distribute enrolment forms to help students.

Mr. Prakash said that the district administration would also provide assistance to non-governmental organisations and voluntary groups conducting awareness campaigns about the enrolment process.
