‘Don’t return awards’

Just before felicitating several literary personalities during the valedictory of Kannada Sahitya Parishat’s centenary celebrations in Mysuru on Friday, Parishat’s President Pundalik Halambi appealed to the recipients against returning the awards.

Mr Halambi’s remarks assumed significance in the light of several recipients of creative honors returning the awards citing growing intolerance in the country.u

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who felicitated 20 literary and political personalities with centenary honours on the occasion, took a cue from Mr. Halambi’s words and made an appeal to the recipients of various gvernment awards against returning the State honours.
