A dog show organised by the Hassan Veterinary College in the association with the Hassan Kennel Club here on Sunday evoked a good response. More than 50 people participated in the show with their pets — which attracted hundreds of people.

The college organised the event in its campus for the second year. Doberman Pinschers, Great Danes, Labradors, Pomeranians, Boxers, Bulldogs, and Beagles were some of the breeds that took part in the show. The police dog squad staged an obedience show of their dogs.

College dean, Vasanth Shetty, who inaugurated the show, said pets needed constant care and medication.

“We need to take care of stray dogs like we take care of our pets. People need to give attention to the welfare of stray dogs as well,” he said. Hassan Kennel Club president H.K. Mahesh and others were present.
