Deputy Commissioner inaugurates campaign

Manoj Jain, Deputy Commissioner, flagged off the awareness campaign, ‘Gandhiji avara kanasu, Karnatakadalli nanasu’ (Dreams of Gandhiji, realised in Karnataka), to popularise the dream programmes of Mahatma Gandhi in Yadgir on Friday.

As part of the campaign, awareness on drinking water, cleanliness, sanitation, gram swarajya and other programmes will be created among rural people.

Apart from, awareness on communal harmony, khadi, women development, health, economical equality, eradication of leprosy and others would be created.

A vehicle of the Information and Public Relation Office was decorated with the information in writing and the vehicle will visit five villages every day from October 2 to 21. During the campaign, street drama, folk music and exhibition would be held, he said.

Mr. Jain also released booklets and hand pamphlets in the event.

Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat Vikas Suralkar, Superintendent of Police Vinayaka Patil and others were present.
