People in Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate have now got a dedicated phone number to air their grievances or complaints with regard to traffic issues through WhatsApp to the Traffic Police.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic) Uma Prashanth launched the dedicated number -- 9480802303 -- in the presence of City Police Commissioner Vipul Kumar and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Hanumantharaya here on Friday.

Ms. Prashanth said general public may send in their feedback and grievances including pictures and videos to the number which would be monitored by a dedicated team of personnel at the traffic automation centre, Kadri, round-the-clock.

The Police Commissioner said the control room and traffic police officials were getting a whole lot of complaints since Mangaluru City has a variety of traffic related issues. As such, the police decided to have a dedicated phone number through which people can send in their grievances.
