Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner Ujwalkumar Ghosh has said that he would visit Ganeshpal in Sirsi taluk regarding the proposed mini hydro electric power plant there, said Vrakshalaksha Andolan president Anant Ashisar in a release on Thursday.

As per the information by the andolan, so far no permission has been given for blasting in the area by the Mining and Zeology Departments, he said.

The Forest Department has not given permission for survey work as the area comes under the Shalmala Valley Conserve.

The andolan has urged DC to reject the Kare Power Resource Company’s application seeking permission to conduct blasting in the area.
