Counting of votes polled in Gram Panchayat elections on May 29 began on Friday morning.
Hassan District Administration have set-up eight counting centres to count votes and declare winners in 254 Gram Panchayats.
As many as 8,651 were in the fray for 3,589 seats. The staff on counting duty began their job by taking up postal ballots first.
