Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation D.V. Sadananda Gowda has said that the Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) coalition government will not survive for more than three months.

“The people’s mandate is clearly against the Congress and JD(S) in the State. Since the Bharatiya Janata Party is the single largest party, it was invited to form the government. The BJP will form the government again if situation arises in its favour in the future,” he said.

He brushed aside allegations that Prime Minister Narendra Modi misused Raj Bhavan to install the BJP government recently by taking advantage of the political uncertainty in the State.

Mr. Gowda visited the town on Sunday to participate in a private programme. Speaking to presspersons here, he said that neither Mr. Modi nor Governor Vajubhai Vala had misused the Raj Bhavan or any other institution.

Bribery charge

Regarding allegations of attempting to lure Congress and JD(S) legislators, Mr. Gowda said: “Let the Congress leaders prove the genuineness of the audio clips that they have released.”
