Students aspiring for seats in engineering colleges in the State appeared for the entrance examination conducted by Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) on Sunday.

A communiqué stated that provisional answer keys would be notified on the COMEDK website on May 17, along with forms for challenging the answer keys. The final answer key would be available on May 25. The students are likely to get their score cards on their respective applicant login on May 28.

The entrance examination was conducted online in three sessions in 137 cities across the country and 24 cities in the State. A total of 62,306 students took the test in the country. In Karnataka, 25,405 students appeared for the three-hour examination that was conducted in 108 centres. Of this, 21,889 students took the test in 48 centres in Bengaluru.

In five centres in Bengaluru, there was a delay in login. “The built-in mechanism automatically extended the time limit accordingly,” the communiqué added. Most students said the test was easy, compared to the other competitive examinations, such as Karnataka Common Entrance Test and Indian Institute of Technology- Joint Entrance Examination.

Rakshit R.K., a student from Expert PU College, Mangaluru, who appeared for the examination at Christ University, said: “Chemistry and mathematics papers were a bit tricky, while physics was simple.”

Shubhangi Bhatnagar from Narayana PU College said some students had to deal with their computers shutting down frequently owing to a technical issue.

Aravind Variyath, a student of National Hill View Public School, who appeared for the examination at REVA University, said: “By conducting the test online, a big burden was taken off our shoulders,” he said.

“My thorough preparation for CET and IIT-JEE examinations helped me do well in this test,” said Akshit Harti, a student of National Hill View Public School.
