CFTRI’s open days

The two-day Open Days celebrations at CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore, will be inaugurated on October 20. The premier research institute will keep its doors open to public on October 20 and 21. The entry is only from the north gate opposite All India Radio on KRS Road.

The public can visit the institute from 9 a.m. onwards on 20th and from 10.30 a.m. onwards on October 21. The last entry will be at 4 p.m. on both days.

“We welcome every citizen of Mysore and students to visit CSIR-CFTRI on these days. This year, the focus is on food safety. Super food varieties like Chia, Quinoa and Teff developed by CFTRI as well as useful information on different aspects of food safety will be on display. Public can also see some of the new machines designed,” a press release said here.

On display will be research activities of all the departments of CSIR-CFTRI, especially related to the central theme Food Safety. Arrangements are also made to brief the visitors of all age groups, the release added.

Police Commissioner B. Dayananda will inaugurate it.
