Cattle trader Hussainabba’s death case has been transferred from the district police to the CID.

Sources in the Police Department said here on Wednesday that the Home Ministry had issued orders for the case to be transferred from the district police to the CID. The CID team was expected to arrive here in this connection in a few days, the sources added. Hussainabba, 62, a cattle trader, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Shenarbettu, near Perdoor, in Hiriyadka police station limits in Udupi district on May 30.

Meanwhile, the bail plea hearing of the 11 accused at the district and sessions court here on Wednesday was adjourned till Thursday as the court sought the post-mortem report in the case.

“The court issued directions for the production of the post-mortem report as it will have clear details of the cause of Hussainabba’s death,” said Shanti Bai, principal public prosecutor.
