Case booked for poll code violation

Deputy Commissioner M.T. Reju said on Saturday that a case of violation of model code of conduct has been registered against Pramod Madhwaraj, Congress candidate for Udupi Assembly Constituency and M.N. Rajendra Kumar, managing trustee of the Navodaya Gram Vikas Charitable Trust .

In a press release, Mr. Reju said both of them had promised a gold coin to the Navodaya self-help groups if they voted in large numbers for the Congressat a party convention in Udupi on March 31.
