Camp on Deleuze Studies from tomorrow

The Manipal Centre for Philosophy and Humanities, Manipal University, in association with the International Journal, ‘Deleuze Studies’, is organising the Third International Deleuze Studies in Asia Camp here from May 29 to June 2.

A release on Wednesday said that the camp would be a major workshop on Deleuze and contemporary French philosophy. This camp is part of the Third International Deleuze Studies in Asia Conference – 2015, which will also be held at MCPH from June 5 to 7.

During the camp, over 125 participants from across the world will attend lectures delivered by eminent scholars and philosophers. The resource persons of the camp include leading Deleuze experts Paul Patton, Anne Sauvagnargues, Jeffrey Bell, Barbara Glowczewski, Patricia Pisters, Emine Gorgul, Sundar Sarukkai and George Varghese K. The formation of Deleuze Studies in India Collective will be formally announced by Ian Buchanan, the editor of ‘Deleuze Studies’ during the valedictory session on June 2. K. Ramnarayan, Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University, will inaugurate the camp at the Gangubai Hanagal Auditorium at 9 a.m. on May 29.
