Businessman from Malur found dead in Cauvery

The body of a businessman from Malur in Kolar district, who was missing since December 31 night, was found in the Cauvery at Srirangapatna on Friday. The police suspect he was kidnapped and murdered.

Ravindra (42), who was into real estate businesses, was a resident of Maruthi Extension in Malur town. He left home on December 31 by car after reportedly telling his wife Manjula that he was going to Whitefield, near Bengaluru. His family members panicked after he did not return that night and his cellphone was not reachable.

The police found his car near Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar Kalamandir in Srirangapatna on January 1. His body was found in the Cauvery, near the Wellesley Bridge, in the town the next morning.
