Burglary bid on SDCC bank branch failed

January 21, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - Shivamogga:

Burglars on Monday made a futile attempt at entering into a branch of the Shivamogga District Central Cooperative (SDCC) Bank located near the Gayatri Mangalya Mandir here.

The burglars had tried to enter the bank building by breaking open the front door with a gas cutter.

However, the police constables, who were on the night beat, heard some sound near the bank and immediately rushed to the spot.

On seeing the police coming towards them, the culprits fled the place, leaving behind the gas cutter, the police said. A case has been registered in this regarfd.
