Akademi to conduct workshop from tomorrow

Karnataka Sahitya Akademi, in association with Malenadu Janapra Vedike, is organising a three-day workshop for young writers on understanding environment at Sakleshpur from Tuesday.

Young writers will be addressed by noted writers and environmentalists at the workshop.

Noted journalist Nagesh Hegde will be the director of the event. Theatre personality Prasanna, who is leading a movement to spread awareness on sustainable development, will inaugurate the workshop on Tuesday. Sahitya akademi president Malati Pattanashetti, member Rupa Hassan and others will participate in the inaugural function. Mallana Nagarala, K.S. Ravi Kumar, Dinesh Holla, Shivanand Kalave, Gururaj Sanil, Mallikarjun Hosapalya, Sharada Gopal, Narendra Rai Derla, Evalien D. Hope and Kesari Haravu will conduct interactive sessions with young writers.Social activist S.R. Hiremath will participate in the valedictory function on October 15.
