Three persons, including the son of a popular Kannada actor, were questioned by the Jayanagar police on Monday in connection with the accident allegedly caused by Vishnu, grandson of late MP D.K. Audikeshavulu.
On Monday, Pranam Devaraj, the son of actor Devaraj, was among the three to be questioned by the police.
Six people were injured when the high-end car Vishnu was allegedly driving rammed into the vehicle they were in. early on Thursday. The police believe that Vishnu was heading towards Banashankari with three of his friends from a pub in the Central Business District.
While Vishnu was nabbed by the public and handed over to the police, he escaped from Mallya Hospital, where he was admitted on Friday morning.
“Apart from Pranam, we also questioned his friend Shashank, and Faisal, a realtor. We have issued notice to eight persons, including the three questioned on Monday,” police sources said.
Mr. Pranam told reporters that it was routine questioning, and that he had reached the spot after the accident. Meanwhile, the police have formed four teams to track down Vishnu, who has been absconding.
Another complaint
Meanwhile, the Jayanagar police have registered a case filed by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike engineer against Vishnu alleging that 25 feet of the footpath at the accident spot near South End circle was damaged.
In the complaint, the Yediyur ward engineer has claimed damages of ₹5 lakh for repairing the pavement, the police said.
