With the BJP set to take a decision on his fate in the wake of allegations of land scam in Karnataka, Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa on Wednesday said he would abide by whatever decision the party leadership takes on the issue.
“Whatever decision is taken by the party, I will abide by the order,” he told reporters in New Delhi.
“I met (BJP chief Nitin) Gadkariji and other senior leaders last night. A decision will be taken around noon. I will not say anything before that,” Mr. Yeddyurappa, who visited a temple at Raghvendra Mutt in the morning, said.
He also had a breakfast meeting with party MPs from the State.
Asked if he was happy, he said, “In future also I want to look very happy.”
His reactions came after a day of hectic parleys among BJP leaders on the issue late Tuesday night.
According to party sources, the Chief Minister may come out with a statement that he did not defy the party leadership and that he would accept whatever the party decides about him.
Mr. Gadkari had said on Tuesday that a decision on the Chief Minister’s fate would be announced on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
