The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation’s (KSRTC) Traffic Transit Management Centre (TTMC), being constructed in Hassan city, is expected to be ready in a month. The TTMC is being built at a cost of Rs. 30 crore, and the centre will serve as a station for buses commuting to places within 40 km radius of the city. H.S. Prakash, Hassan MLA, on Wednesday, inspected the work progress with senior officers of the KSRTC. The TTMC consists of a parking yard in the ground floor, bus-bays, office block, waiting area, restrooms, cloakroom, first-aid facility, shops, and kiosks. The bus-bays can accommodate 40 buses at a time.

Speaking to presspersons, Mr. Prakash said: “The TTMC will be inaugurated in a month from now. The KSRTC is also building an additional depot. Both will be inaugurated together.”

The MLA said commercial shops and establishments should be allotted individually. “The maintenance of the new KSRTC bus stand at Channapatna was handed over to a firm through global tender. The KSRTC should auction each shop separately in the TTMC,” he said.
