Runaway girls from Guntur rescued in Hubballi

Three teenage girls who fled from an orphanage in Guntur in Andhra Pradesh have been rescued by the officers and personnel of Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Hubballi. The three girls aged between 15 and 16 fled from HEAL Children’s Village in Guntur on Friday. Subsequently, a look-out notice was received at RPF Office in Hubballi on Sunday.

On getting information, the RPF office circulated the details about the girls and also photos to the staff concerned and on Monday, at around 3 a.m, RPF constable Mahendra Kumar spotted the teenagers on platform no 1 of Hubballi Railway Station. On enquiry, the girls revealed that they had reached Nandyal on Saturday and arrived in Hubballi on Sunday.

On Monday, the RPF personnel handed over the girls to the representatives of HEAL Children’s Village, Guntur, in the presence of police personnel from Nallapadu Police Station (Andhra Pradesh).

In 2016, the RPF team of Hubballi division had rescued a total of 78 runaway children.
