Nine studentstaken ill

January 06, 2017 12:59 am | Updated 12:59 am IST - Bidar:

Nine students of the Government Urdu Primary School in Kuttabad village were admitted to the district hospital on Thursday evening after they complained of vomiting and diarrohea.

Doctors suspected food poisoning due to the use of infected grain or unclean vessels for preparing midday meals. All children are out of danger. Inayat Ali Shindhe, district coordinator of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan said that the children felt discomfort because they had eaten raw seeds of the chironji ( buchanania lanzan ) tree outside the school compound. There are over 200 students in the school. But only nine were affected. It is highly unlikely that midday meal was infected.
