The Makkala Sahitya Parishat is organising the first Makkala Sahitya Sammelan in Hassan on February 10 and 11.
The president of the sammelan will be selected after assessing the performance of children in a State-level talent exhibition competition to be held in Hassan on January 15.
H.L. Nagaraj, Assistant Commissioner of Hassan and general secretary of reception committee of the sammelan, in a press conference here on Thursday, said that students aged between 14 and 18 years can participate in the competitions.
“Those studying in classes 8 to 12 can participate in the competitions. Pick and speak, debate, poetry recitation and other competitions would be held on the day,” he said.
