Heatwave conditions continue in Hyderabad Karnataka

The Hyderabad-Karnataka region continued to reel under heatwave conditions with the mercury crossing 40 degrees Celsius in Bidar as per the observations recorded at 8.30 a.m. on Sunday by the India Meteorological Department.

Sources in the IMD told The Hindu here on Sunday that Bidar recorded the State’s highest maximum temperature of 40.6 degrees Celsius which was 4 degrees Celsius more than the normal temperature recorded during the same period in the past. Bidar also recorded the State’s highest minimum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius.

Kalaburagi and Raichur recorded an identical 40 degrees Celsius maximum temperature and a minimum temperatures of 25 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

Ballari also recorded high a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius and Koppal recorded 38 degrees Celsius. They recorded identical minimum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius. Vijayapura and Bagalkot also recorded 38 degrees Celsius maxmimum temperature.

Oppressive weather conditions during the day kept the people indoors most of the time and the roads in Kalaburagi wore a deserted look in the afternoon.
