Mandya Taluk Panchayat president K.M. Beerappa emphasised on the need to provide computer education to government high school students. He was addressing students and Education Department officials at PES College of Engineering, after inaugurating the mass Internet training programme ‘Antharjala Prapancha’ (‘Student Internet World’), here on Thursday.
Providing computer education to students of government schools, right from the high school level, will improve their skills, he opined.
Many students from government high schools in rural areas in Mandya taluk participated. They were trained in the basic computing, typing, MS Office and using email, social media and the Internet in general.
PES College, with the Department of Information Technology and Biotechnology, Mandya district administration and the Department of Education, organised the programme to create awareness on information and communication technologies among high school students in rural areas.
