Samaj Parivarthana Samudaya has alleged that the former Chief Minister S.M. Krishna has made a clever and calculated move to quit the Congress with a view to protecting himself from being arrested and to furthering his son-in-law V.G. Siddartha’s political career.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, samudaya founder-president S.R. Hiremath said that rumours of Mr. Krishna joining the ruling party at the Centre was to get immunity and protection for his alleged high crimes.
The samudaya has written an additional letter to member-secretary, Special Investigation Team on Black Money, appointed by the Supreme Court, and Revenue Secretary, Minister of Finance, New Delhi, to inquire into the alleged accumulation of black money by Mr. Siddartha, which, he alleged, was aided and abetted by Mr. Krishna during his tenure as Chief Minister. He should be investigated by the CBI and ED under CrPC 173(8), he added.
If prosecuted in the forestland-grab and fake stamp-paper scams, Mr. Krishna too will face the same fate as that of Gali Janardhan Reddy, B.S. Yeddyurappa and the late Jayalalithaa. The samudaya would file an interlocutory application in the High Court of Karnataka regarding the alleged grabbing of 180 acres of land in Koppa in Chikkamagaluru district by Mr. Siddartha, he said.
