16 injured as mini-van overturns in Mandya village

Sixteen persons from Mysuru district were injured after a mini-van they were travelling by overturned near Kesarakki Halla, near Muthathi, a picnic spot in the district, on Saturday.

According to the police, the victims were all from Hullahalli near Nanjangud. They had attended a fair in a temple at Chikkallur, visited Talakad and Mudukuthore before heading to Muthuraya temple in Muthathi in Malavalli taluk.

The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a small curve, Halagur police said.

The injured have been rushed to hospitals in Malavalli and Mysuru, the police said. A case has been booked.
