A fan of Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Tuesday expressed his gratitude to the deity at Murukanahalli, K.R. Pet taluk of the district, by making an offering of 151 poultry chicken and two sheep in fulfilment of his wishes.

Hulle Gowda, a senior JD(S) worker at Bookanakere, the birthplace of BJP State president and former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, told presspersons that he had taken a vow in Thoreyamma temple at Murukanahalli, before the Assembly elections, and sought blessings to be fulfilled if Mr. Kumaraswamy became the Chief Minister. He had also promised to offer 151 poultry chicken and two sheep to the goddess if the JD(S) was elected to power in Karnataka.

Mr. Hulle Gowda, who is also a former taluk panchayat member, brought around ₹1 lakh worth poultry chicken and sheep and offered them to the deity with his relatives.

The meat was later cooked and served to around 1,000 villagers at the community hall at Bookanakere.
