120 tonnes of iron ore seized in Bellary district

In a joint operation, officials of the forest, police and revenue departments seized 120 tons of iron ore being illegally transported from Karnataka to Andhra Pradesh at a village in Sandur taluk.

As many as six lorries were seized and six persons arrested in this connection last night at Dibbaladinni village, Mahesh Patil, Sandur Range Forest Office said.

Investigations are on to ascertain to whom the consignment belongs to, officials said.
