Jagjit Singh stable but unconscious

Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh, who underwent a surgery after he suffered brain haemorrhage on Friday, is stable now, according to Sudhir Dagaonkar, Director, Administrative Services, Lilavati Hospital, here on Saturday.

“He is stable but unconscious and is being monitored closely by a team of doctors in the Intensive Care Unit.” His breathing pattern was normal. Social micro blogging site Twitter was abuzz with messages praying for the speedy recovery of the singer. Actors Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar and director Shekhar Kapur prayed for his well-being.

Actor Anupam Kher tweeted: “My prayers for Jagjit Singh, the best ghazal singer of our country. May his health be fine soon.”
