Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal has reportedly said it was “wrong”of his colleague Kiran Bedi to have overcharged her hosts for her travel and added that “he would not have done it.”
In an interview to television channel Aaj Tak to be aired on Sunday, Mr. Kejriwal is quoted as saying that “she has said it will not happen again.”
He, however, added that Ms. Bedi had committed only a “technical irregularity” and was not a personal beneficiary of the money.
When contacted, Mr Kejriwal said, “A select, out-of-context, distorted version” was being made available by the channel as pre-publicity. “I request you to watch the entire interview before writing about it.”
‘Planting stories'
The channel made select excerpts of the interview available to the media on Friday. In these exerpts, Mr. Kejriwal was quoted as having alleged that the government was planting stories in the media to incite differences amongst members of Team Anna.
