Explained | A complete list of new traffic violation fines under the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill, 2019

The Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill, 2019 was passed by the Rajya Sabha on July 31. To make roads safer, the Centre in consultation with State Transport Ministers came up with this Bill to amend the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

The changes made included higher fines for traffic violations and stricter penalties in the cases of offences by juveniles. It also gives officers power to suspend licences.

Here are a list of proposed amendments and newly proposed provisions.
