Condemning the attack on lawyer Prashant Bhushan by two youths, Home Minister P. Chidambaram on Wednesday said he has directed the Delhi Police Commissioner to take appropriate action against the assailants.

Mr. Chidambaram said one person involved in the attack has been arrested and police was looking for another person.

The Home Minister said he has spoken to Delhi Police Commissioner B.K. Gupta and directed him to take appropriate action.

He said Mr. Bhushan has been taken to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital for treatment and he has sent an official to enquire about him.

“No body has the right to take law in their hands and I have asked the Delhi Police to take appropriate action against the people involved in the attack,” he said.

Mr. Bhushan was attacked by two youths suspected to be members of the Sriram Sena members in his Supreme Court lawyers’ chambers in New Delhi.
