Three persons were arrested and nine students detained on Saturday in Chatra district of Jharkhand for their alleged role in leaking the question paper for CBSE Class X mathematics examination.

Those arrested are two directors of a Chatra-based coaching institute, Student Vision — Satish Pandey and Pankaj Kumar Singh — and a private tutor. Mr Pandey is said to be associated with BJP’s student wing Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). However, the national media convenor of the ABVP, Saket Bahuguna, denied the allegations.

Two of the detained students are from Patna.

“Technical evidence has established their role in it,“ said Chatra SP Akhilesh B. Variar.
