BJP not afraid of AAP: Lekhi

February 03, 2014 01:21 am | Updated May 18, 2016 05:27 am IST - Mumbai:

Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi, on Sunday, said the party was not afraid of the rise of the Aam Aadmi Party.

“Anna Hazare was just made the face of the anti-corruption to further their interests. Otherwise, who knew Arvind Kejriwal before? People started getting to know him only because he used to sit next to Anna during the hunger strike,” she said. Lekhi was in Mumbai to be a part of the NaMo Tea Party — an event organised by the party across the country as a response to the Congress jibe about Modi having been a tea-seller.

At the interactive session, she also asked the Jains present in the audience if they were happy with the minority status. After they answered in the negative, she said: “The minority tag was given just to increase the vote bank.”
