Woman kills son, ends life

A 28-year-old woman hanged herself to death after strangulating her nine-year-old son at Ponnaluru in Prakasam district on Thursday.

Kandukur Circle Inspector M. Lakshman said K. Bharghavi, who was depressed, had left a suicide note, saying none was responsible for the incident. She further said in the note that she did not want to leave her son, Harishchandra, in the lurch and hence decided to kill him before taking the extreme step, the CI said.

Lawyer ends life

A 35-year-old lawyer reportedly committed suicide at Surareddypalem in Prakasam district on Thursday.

General Railway police Circle Inspector K. Venkateswara Rao said the lawyer, K. Ramanaiah, who was staying at Chimakurthy, took the extreme step by jumping before the Kamakhya - Bangalore express. Registering a case under 174 Cr.Pc, the GRP police began a probe into the reasons behind the suicide.
