A woman delivered a baby boy on a TSRTC bus at Koti here on Friday. The delivery happened even as the woman was on her way to the Government Maternity Hospital in Sultan Bazar for a regular check-up When the bus reached Andhra Bank, Laxmi, who hails from IDA Bollarum, developed labour pains. The driver, showing presence of mind, took the vehicle to the hospital. Authorities at Sultanbazar Maternity Hosptial said that the baby and the mother were in a stable condition.
“The mother and the baby will be discharged in a few days,” said hospital Superintendent K. Sandhya Rani.
