Alleging conspiracy, C.M. Ramesh vows to take to legal recourse.

TDP Rajya Sabha member C.M. Ramesh’s WhatsApp account has been “banned” for alleged violation of its terms of service.

But the management of the Facebook-owned social media messaging platform did not divulge the nature of complaints that prompted it to crack the whip, citing user privacy issues.

The WhatsApp support team replied to a letter written by the MP about his account becoming inactive, that they had decided to “keep it banned” following the receipt of a large number of complaints, whose nature they did not disclose.

Allegations denied

Mr. Ramesh denied that he misused WhatsApp.

Alleging a conspiracy behind it, he vowed to take to legal recourse against the blocking of his account.

He wrote to the WhatsApp team that if at all he misused the account possibly by mistake, he would not do it again, insisting that it was a part of political vendetta.
