Two children were drowned in a village tank at Peddavelagaturu in Peddapanjani mandal near Palamaner on Wednesday. Police said that two victims– Khader (10) and Venkatesh (14)– went for swim in the Annakunta Cheruvu tank near their village in the afternoon. As they swam up to the middle of the tank, they could not swim back and were drowned.
In the evening, the villagers found their bodies floating in the tank. Police reached the spot and fished out the bodies, which have been shifted to hospital for autopsy. A case has been registered.
