A final year student of Computer Science and Engineering, Miracle Engineering College Kundhan Karunakar has been invited to take part in a three-day annual women’s leadership and empowerment conference being held in Bangkok from March 1 to 3.
Delegates from 40 countries would be participating in the conference being organised by Tomorrow People Organisation, an international establishment.
The three main components of the convention include study session on women’s leadership and disadvantaged groups, paper presentation and discussions. The avenue aims at fostering leadership qualities among young minds, allowing them to learn from the best practices.
According to the members of organising committee, the objective of the conference is to provide a unique platform for the participants to discuss topics such as gender issues, role of women in different fields, leadership development and empowering tools to bring about positive change in society.
As part of the global meet, delegates will have an opportunity to interact with eminent leaders who are expected to arrive from diverse spheres. “I consider this as once in a lifetime opportunity. Moreover, with academicians and social workers from different parts of the world coming together for discussions and paper presentations, we will have a wider scope to share best practices,” says Kundhan, who could not contain his excitement.
Kundhan also heads a youth association that has a network of students under the banner Oneness Organisation. The association whips up a plethora of initiatives to reach out to students of weaker sections. “With international exposure such as this, our ability to connect with all sections of the society will scale new heights. It also helps me think beyond our curriculum and come up with innovative ideas to add value to our association which works for marginal communities,” he adds.
