October 31, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - MACHILIPATNAM:

The chief investigating officer in the Esther Anuhya rape and murder case, Venkat Patil, said on Friday that video footage obtained from the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai helped to nail her killer, Chandrakant Sudam Sanap.

“The video footage was key evidence which established Sanap’s link to the murder,” said Mr. Patil.

The video shows Anuhya alighting from the train on platform 3 of the Kurla station at 4.55 a.m. on January 5, 2014. At 5.11 a.m., she meets Sanap between platforms 4 and 5.
