Dwarapudi near Mandapeta in East Godavari district is popular as Andhra Sabarimala where Lord Ayyappa temple was constructed long ago on the lines of Sabarimala. Most of the poor who are not in a position to afford to take up the pilgrimage to Sabarimala during “maala dharana” in Karthika masam visit this place.

Now, in the Ayyappa temple complex, Dwarapudi Dasavatara Kalyana Venkateswara Swami temple has been constructed and it has the potential to become the third most popular temple of Lord Venkateswara Swami or Balaji. After Tirumala, the second most popular Balaji temple is situated in West Godavari, at Dwaraka Tirumala and is popularly known as “chinna Tirupati”.
