Sahitya Academy Puraskar recipient Ketu Viswanatha Reddy released a book ‘Veguchukkalu’ written by M.M. Vinodini, Coordinator of Telugu Department in Yogi Vemana University, in a function organised by Jana Vignana Vedika in C.P. Brown Library.

Dr. Vinodini aptly portrayed the social outlook of Tallapaka Annamacharya, Yogi Vemana and Pothuluri Veerabrahmendra Swamy by analysing the falsehood propagated against them, Dr. Viswanatha Reddy said.

The book would help comprehend ancient poets in a scientific manner, JVV honorary president R. Chandrasekhar Reddy said. Dr. Vinodini wrote the book with a Dalit and Bahujan outlook and was a progressive work, he added.

Literary activist C.V. Ramesh, who reviewed the book, said Vemana was influenced by Jainism, which was prevalent in Rayalaseema. Dr. Vinodini thanked the writers and JVV.

JVV district general secretary A. Raghanatha Reddy, YVU Registrar G. Sambasiva Reddy, assistant professor M. Mallikarjuna Reddy, Putha Bali Reddy, Mallemala Venugopala Reddy, Y. Harerama Murthy and JVV leaders A.D. Devadatham and Suresh participated.
