Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas on Friday launched the Pentavalent vaccination programme at the AMG School. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the vaccination drive would reduce the Mother Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in the State.
“In the last 10 years, Andhra Pradesh has topped in MMR and IMR among the Southern States. To correct the adverse indicators, we have come up with this drive,” he said, adding that reduction of MMR and IMR was among the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) of the UNDP. Ministers N. Chinna Rajappa, Ganta Srinivasa Rao and officials were also present on the occasion.
