Two persons including a farmer and a degree student were electrocuted in separate incidents in the district on Saturday.

A farmer was electrocuted after coming in contact with a live wire at Seethampeta in Chintakani mandal on Saturday morning.

Sources said that Ch Gopaiah, 50, accidentally stepped on a snapped electric wire while on his way to his agricultural field to fetch water to the crop in the early hours of the day.

In another incident, Nunavath Swathi, 20, of Ramanna Tanda in Tirumalayapalem mandal was electrocuted at her home on Saturday afternoon.

Swathi, a degree second year student of a Khammam-based private college, suffered electric shock while trying to hang wet clothes on a wire reportedly tied to an iron rod adjoining an electric switch board on the premises of her home in the afternoon.
