HRD Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao on Wednesday told the media that two DEOs facing allegations had been suspended. DEOs of Krishna and Kurnool were suspended for lapses in counselling for transfer of teachers and rationalisation process. A decision was also taken to surrender Srikakulam District Rajiv Vidya Mission Project Director to the government, he said. Replying to a question, Mr. Rao said that cases related to DSC recruitment pending in High Court and various tribunals would be cleared in two weeks. He announced that the Education Department would give away Pratibha Puraskars to 6,550 meritorious students.
